About the Role
CSS Wind, a division of the CSS Industrial Group of Companies, is currently hiring experienced Wind Turbine Blade Repair Technician to support wind energy projects across Canada. This role involves advanced wind turbine blade inspections, defect analysis, and Category 1–5 composite repairs independently. This is a travel-intensive position, requiring flexibility and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and document internal and external blade damage, including photographic evidence and detailed reporting
- Perform coating and structural repairs on blades, including leading/trailing edges, tips, and internal components, following engineering guidelines
- Work at heights (up to 300 ft) using rope access or platform systems
- Complete and submit accurate service reports and Daily Work Reports (DWR) using mobile systems
- Review and submit repair documentation to Operations and Engineering teams
- Communicate site progress and issues with internal teams and clients
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures on wind turbine generators
- Assist with site setup, including coordination of labour and materials
- Perform rigging and de-rigging tasks as required
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in hazard assessments and safety meetings
About You
Required Certifications:
- Full GWO Certification (BST, ART, BTT)
Additional Certifications (preferred or required, depending on project):
- Arc Flash / NFPA 70E
- Confined Space & Rescue
- WHMIS
- Respirator Fit Testing
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- IRATA or SPRAT Rope Access Certification
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in blade repair, composites, or similar mechanical work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Team player with good communication
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to travel extensively across Canada
- Physically capable of performing job duties
